K.L. Umar Kunhi Haji, renowned across the district and surrounding areas, was a prominent figure residing in Montugoli near Montepadu, on the border of Bantwala-Mangalore taluks. He shared a neighborhood with the esteemed scholar Bekal Ustad.
Born on June 18, 1937, in Pattori, Umar Kunhi Haji hailed from the esteemed “Pattori Mukrika” family, being the son of Ahmed Kunhi and Aishamma. He received his primary education in Pattori and pursued further studies in Dars at Kinya.
