A.H. Noushad Haji Suralpadi is a well-known businessman, entrepreneur, and social worker, who served as the President of the ‘Nande Pengal’ Movement.

Born on June 1, 1979, in Arala, Bantwal, to A.M. Bava Arala and Nafeesa, Noushad Haji began his education at the Government Primary School in Koila and continued at Malali Higher Primary School in Bantwal. Despite dropping out of high school, he started his career as a flower vendor and eventually rose to prominence as a social worker and successful businessman. Driven by a deep desire to uplift his community and address its challenges, Noushad Haji’s journey from humble beginnings to significant achievements is truly inspirational.

A.H. Noushad Haji Suralpadi, a man deeply concerned with social issues, believed that education and communal harmony were essential for societal development. Recognizing the community’s need for support and contributions across various fields, he always aspired to work for its betterment. His life philosophy was to serve the community at any cost.

In 2002, he organized several mass marriages to aid poor and financially struggling families. He collaborated with various organizations and NGOs to conduct numerous social awareness programs. His dream was to see a society free from the dowry system.

A.H. Noushad Haji valued the power and potential of youth, encouraging their ideas for national development. He believed education was the most powerful tool to change the world and that every child deserved the right to education as much as the right to life. He built mosques and educational institutions in Bijapura and coastal areas, striving to guide the present generation towards a better future.

Due to the dowry system in the Muslim community, the number of unmarried girls in their 30s was relatively high. To address this issue, A.H. Noushad Haji introduced a project called ‘NANDE PENGAL’. This initiative helped over 100 girls from financially disadvantaged backgrounds get married.

A.H. Noushad Haji was a well-known and socially connected individual who collaborated with many intellectuals, ulamas, and businessmen to achieve significant advancements for the welfare of society. He was like a one-man army, determined to eradicate the social evils plaguing his community and committed to achieving tangible results.

Apart from being a dedicated professional, A.H. Noushad Haji enjoyed reading books and meeting new people. He traveled extensively across Karnataka to understand and address the problems faced by various communities. He also served as president and chairman of several organizations, including SYS Gurupura Range, Al Misbah Foundation, Darunoor Education Center, Sadbavana Vedike, and Muneerul Islam Young Men’s Association.

For his exemplary service, outstanding dedication, relentless effort, and selfless commitment to his vision of an empowered community and nation, A.H. Noushad Haji was frequently honored by reputed NGOs and the government. These accolades recognized and celebrated his unique contributions to society.

A.H. Noushad Haji passed away on January 1, 2023, leaving behind his wife, three sons, and one daughter.
