Mr. Iqbal Ahmed, Secretary, and Chairman of Little Flower Public School, Banshankari, and Mitra Academy, Bannerghetta Road, Bengaluru, emerges as a beacon of educational excellence. Born into a notable lineage within the Beary community of Mangalore to Late Mrs. Amina and Late Mr. Abdur Rahim Ahmed, esteemed members, he embodies the essence of visionary leadership. Guided by his father, the esteemed Judge in the former Madras Presidency, young Iqbal imbibed values of integrity, compassion, and intellectual curiosity. He is the younger brother of Late Mr. Rauf Ahmed, a veteran film Jounalist.
Mr. Ahmed, after completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mangaluru, started his career as a property developer. As his business thrived and he achieved success, he felt a growing desire for more meaningful pursuits. In 1982, he made a pivotal decision to move to Bengaluru to further expand his business empire.
From his early years, he learned the values of humility, honesty, and compassion, along with a strong sense of duty, discipline, and dedication. These principles fuelled his desire to make a meaningful contribution to society. He firmly believed that education was crucial for societal advancement, shaping both individuals’ futures and the nation as a whole. Providing quality education at an affordable price became his enduring legacy for future generations.
This marked the humble inception of the first generation in his family to venture into the realm of education in 1972, with the establishment of St. Paul’s School in JP Nagar, a collaborative effort alongside his nephew, Dr. Nissar Ahmed, who is presently the Chairman of the Presidency Group of Institutions. This marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. The fruition of Mr. Ahmed’s aspirations materialised in 1988 with the establishment of Little Flower Public School in Banashankari, Bengaluru
Motivated by a strong desire to improve society and offer quality education at an affordable cost, Mitra Academy was established in 2003 on Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru. Mr. Ahmed, now in his eighties, feels fulfilled seeing his dream of outstanding schools come to life. Even with his age, he’s full of energy and commitment. His happiness comes from being around children, showing how his life’s work brings him deep joy and keeps him going strong. His schools provide jobs for many people, and as the schools grow, so do the job opportunities. He’s just as dedicated now as he was when he started. He believes in always getting better, pushing himself and his schools towards excellence.
Under his leadership, the schools have garnered various prestigious awards and accolades, including recognition as High Happiness Quotient Schools in India and India’s Top ICSE Schools – Parameter Wise, bestowed upon them by esteemed educational publications.
