Mahammad Haneef’s story is a remarkable testament to the power of perseverance and community service. Born to illiterate parents, with a father working as a daily wage laborer, Haneef’s path to education was filled with obstacles. However, with the unwavering support of his family, he overcame the odds to achieve academic and professional milestones beyond the reach of many from his modest background in rural India.

Despite financial struggles, Haneef’s parents prioritized his education, and his elder sister sacrificed her own schooling to help support the household. These collective efforts enabled him to graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication in 1999. His career began as a technician in an electronics company, and a pivotal role as a cyber cafe assistant in 2000 introduced him to computers and Photoshop. With these skills, he developed a groundbreaking Photoshop plugin that transformed digital photography in and around Dakshina Kannada in 2000. This success led to the establishment of his own computer service center in 2002, marking the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey.

In 2006, Haneef moved to Dubai, where he worked with a heavy equipment company and later joined Etisalat Engineering College, which eventually became Khalifa University. Over the years, he advanced from a technician to roles such as Programmer and Reporting Specialist, earning prestigious accolades like the Khalifa Excellence Award 2014 and the KU STAR Award (2018).

In 2018, he transitioned to the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) and was promoted to Cloud and Infrastructure Manager in 2022. His work in the space and research industry has allowed him to visit NASA, Canadian Space Agency, South Korean Space Agency, French Space Agency and also collaborate with top scientists from more than 50 global space organizations including ISRO.

Haneef also serves as the Manager of IT Operations at the University of Dubai, where he holds full responsibility for overseeing and managing all IT operations across the university.

Driven by his early challenges, Haneef founded the “Class on Wheels” initiative under MFriends Charitable Trust (R) Mangalore. This mobile computer literacy program travels to rural areas, providing free education to children who lack access to digital training. To date, the initiative has educated over 2000 students, with a vision of empowering a more rural children’s in the next decade.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Haneef played a crucial role in organizing the supply of oxygen cylinders, Oxygen Regulators, Oxygen Concentrators and arranging chartered flights from Dubai to Mangalore, providing essential support to those in need. Additionally, he was actively involved in “Operation Uganda,” a successful initiative to repatriate stranded youth from Uganda.

Haneef’s journey from a small village in Puttur to contributing to space research in Dubai highlights the transformative power of education and resilience. Through his work with “Class on Wheels,” he is opening doors for the next generation, ensuring they can dream beyond their circumstances and achieve greatness.

Haneef, the son of Abbas Haji Ballery and Beebi Balleri from Aryapu Village in Puttur, is a proud father to a daughter. His FCCsister manages a successful tailoring business in Puttur, known as Queenz Ladies Designers.

ಮಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಹನೀಫ್ ಅವರ ಕಥೆಯು ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅನಕ್ಷರಸ್ಥ ಪೋಷಕರಿಗೆ ಜನಿಸಿ, ತಂದೆ ದಿನಗೂಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವವರಾಗಿ ಹನೀಫ್ ಅವರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಹಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಅಡೆತಡೆಗಳು ತುಂಬಿದ್ದವು. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಅಚಲ ಬೆಂಬಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಅವರು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರೂ ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದುದನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ವೃತ್ತಿಪರ ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡತಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿನಿಂತು ಗೆದ್ದರು.

ಹಣಕಾಸಿನ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳ ಹೊರತಾಗಿಯೂ, ಹನೀಫ್ ಅವರ ಪೋಷಕರು ಅವರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಅಕ್ಕ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ತ್ಯಾಗ ಮಾಡಿ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಸಾಮೂಹಿಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು 1999 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ಸ್ & ಕಮ್ಯುನಿಕೇಶನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯಾಚುಲರ್ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟವು. ಅವರ ವೃತ್ತಿಜೀವನವು ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಾನಿಕ್ಸ್ ಕಂಪನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು 2000 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೈಬರ್ ಕೆಫೆ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಫೋಟೋಶಾಪ್‌ಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿತು. ಈ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರು 2000 ರಲ್ಲಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಹಣವನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಫೋಟೋಶಾಪ್ ಪ್ಲಗಿನ್ ಅನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಯಶಸ್ಸು 2002 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಸ್ವಂತ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಸೇವಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲು ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು. ಇದು ಅವರ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆಯ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದ ಆರಂಭ ಕೂಡ ಹೌದು.

2006 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಹನೀಫ್ ದುಬೈಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಭಾರೀ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳ ಕಂಪನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ನಂತರ ಎತಿಸಲಾತ್ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದರು. ಅದು ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಖಲೀಫಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರದ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವರು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞರಿಂದ ಪ್ರೋಗ್ರಾಮರ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಿಪೋರ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಸ್ಪೆಷಲಿಸ್ಟ್‌ನಂತಹ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಂಬಡ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದರು ಹಾಗೂ ಖಲೀಫಾ ಎಕ್ಸಲೆನ್ಸ್ ಅವಾರ್ಡ್ 2014 ಮತ್ತು KU STAR ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ (2018) ನಂತಹ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿದರು.2018 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಬಿನ್ ರಾಶಿದ್ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ (MBRSC) ಸೇರಿದರು ಮತ್ತು 2022 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಲೌಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ಫ್ರಾಸ್ಟ್ರಕ್ಚರ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ಆಗಿ ಬಡ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದರು. ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ರೀಸರ್ಚ್ ಉದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿನ ಅವರ ಕೆಲಸ ನಾಸಾ, ಕೆನೆಡಿಯನ್ ಸ್ಪೇಸ್ ಏಜನ್ಸಿ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕೊರಿಯಾ ಸ್ಪೇಸ್ ಏಜನ್ಸಿ, ಫ್ರೆಂಚ್ ಸ್ಪೇಸ್ ಏಜನ್ಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ISRO ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ 50 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಉನ್ನತ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಹಯೋಗ ಹೊಂದಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

ಹನೀಫ್ ದುಬೈ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಐಟಿ ಆಪರೇಶನ್ಸ್ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್ ಆಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಎಲ್ಲಾ IT ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಗಳ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತಮ್ಮ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಗೊಂಡು ಹನೀಫ್ M. Friends Charitable Trust (R) Mangalore ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ “ಕ್ಲಾಸ್ ಆನ್ ವೀಲ್ಸ್” ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಸಾಕ್ಷರತಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಹಾಗೂ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ತರಬೇತಿಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶದ ಕೊರತೆಯಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ, ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ 3,000 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಸಬಲೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಯೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

COVID-19 ಸಾಂಕ್ರಾಮಿಕ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಹನೀಫ್ ಅವರು ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ಸಿಲಿಂಡರ್‌ಗಳು, ಆಮ್ಲಜನಕ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಕಗಳ, ಆಕ್ಸಿಜನ್ ಕಾನ್ಸೆಂಟ್ರೇಟರ್‌ಗಳ ಪೂರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಘಟಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ದುಬೈನಿಂದ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಚಾರ್ಟರ್ಡ್ ವಿಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೊಳಿಸಿಶಲು ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿದರು. ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ, ಅವರು “ಆಪರೇಷನ್ ಉಗಾಂಡಾ” ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಇದು ಉಗಾಂಡಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದ ಯುವಕರನ್ನು ವಾಪಸ್ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ಸಣ್ಣ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂದು ದುಬೈನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಕಾಶ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡುವ ಹನೀಫ್ ಅವರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಿತಿಸ್ಥಾಪಕತ್ವದ ಪರಿವರ್ತಕ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. “ಕ್ಲಾಸ್ ಆನ್ ವೀಲ್ಸ್” ಕೆಲಸದ ಮೂಲಕ, ಅವರು ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶದ ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತನ್ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಕನಸು ಕಾಣಬಹುದೆಂದು ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನ ಆರ್ಯಾಪು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಅಬ್ಬಾಸ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಬಳ್ಳೇರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬೀಬಿ ಬಳ್ಳೇರಿ ದಂಪತಿಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಹನೀಫ್ ಒಂದು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ತಂದೆ. ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರಿ ಪುತ್ತೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಟೈಲರಿಂಗ್ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ಕ್ವೀಂಜ್ ಲೇಡೀಸ್ ಡಿಸೈನರನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
