The spectacular Journey of The Beary women writers (Beary Elthgaarthimaaro koota) has embarked in April 2018, in the form of a WhatsApp group, created by Ayesha UK, considering the proposals of Zulekha Mumtaz and Shameema kuthar.

It is a grass root initiative, dedicated to promote and preserve the talents of our ladies. Also it is a unique, effective and innovative method of bringing a group of writers together and allowing them to study the craft of writing.

The group of 72 members is filled, by Passion and creative energy from diverse places of the state  with different life experiences.

When offline groups of writers were operating in specific areas and cities, introvert or restricted women writers used to feel left out. So, they created a WhatsApp group which is available at the click of a button.

This guiding vision of the group is shaped by four administrators namely, Ayesha UK, Zulekha Mumtaz, Shamima Kuthar and Hafsa Banu Bengaluru. They have since been running, supportive and quality programs.

They have conducted an online essay competition in October 2021, for general public ladies, which attained a huge accomplishment.

This success revamped their skills and helped to upgrade their programs to offline to strengthen the team dynamics.

This holistic understanding led them to conduct a signature event named ‘Ormeppad’ in the form of a get together in November 2023, at the premises of Baraka International School Adyar, Mangalore

The program attained eminence by Poem recitation, Interlocution and many more fun games. The significance of the event became meritorious, when the remaining fund was used for the Charity of Wenlock Hospital.

Recently, another offline program,  ‘Sahithyatho Osar’ was held on 12th of May 2024, at Sahodaya Auditorium Balmatta, Mangalore added more feathers to their crown. The program included poem recitation, Interlocution regarding various topics related to women issues.

Thus, the group provided a platform to nurture the thoughts, improve skills and engage with literary world.

Majority of the members of this group actively participated in the poetry festivals conducted by Beary Academy from 2018 to 2024 on behalf of women’s day.

The group’s foresight includes running workshops and partnering with local organizations and publications to further support the community and engage in meaningful social services.
