D. M. Aslam

Founder - Foot Ball Players Association, Mangalore

D. M. Aslam born on May 21st, 1961 and his father’s name is D. M. Rafiq. He belongs to the famous ‘Pawnaaraga’ family of Mangalore and lost his father at a very young age

He studied at Government Urdu School in Kasaigalli, Mangalore and worked in Abu Dhabi, UAE for eight years till 1985. From there he moved to Mumbai and worked there for 6 years and returned to Mangalore.

Aslam is a football player by birth. Football is his fashion. He raised the game of football to the height of popularity in Dakshina Kannada district.

D.M. Aslam founded the ‘Foot Ball Players Association‘ in Mangalore in 1992. He created hundreds of football players under its auspices. His constant organizes of flood light foot ball tournaments increased the popularity of football among the youth

The sport festival organized by him in Mangalore in 1997 is a record in the history of the sports field of the district.

The football pavilion built in the central ground of Mangalore is his achievement.

He has been the continuous president of the Dakshina Kannada District Football Association for the past 20 years, established under the auspices of the Karnataka Football Association.

There are 23 football clubs under the auspices of this District Association and league football tournaments are organized every year.

2023 Independence Cup Foot Ball Tournament organized by him was very popular.

Twenty-five years ago, he founded an organization called “Parisara Priya Bandar” in Mangalore, which has rendered excellent service in the field of health.

In recognition of his services in the field of sports and social affairs, the government awarded him the District Rajyotsava Award in 2016.
