Haji T. Hussain Gurupura

Haji T. Hussain, born on October 6, 1936, as the son of Cheyyabba-Rabiya couple of Tannirbavi, Mangalore Taluk, surpassed expectations despite his education only up to the fourth standard.
Upon settling in Gurupura, he embarked on a dedicated public service journey. Elected as a member of Gurupur Gram Panchayat in 1974, he later became its president, serving the public for about 25 years in this role. He also held positions such as Mandal Pradhan in 1990, president of Gurupur Block Congress, and member of KPCC.
Throughout his career, he held numerous positions, including director and chairman of PLD Bank, member of Hubli Railway Advisory Committee, member of Land Justice Board, and member of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat from Gurupur Constituency. Additionally, he served as president of various mosques and educational institutions, demonstrating his commitment to community development.
After nearly 45 years of dedicated service in politics, Haji T. passed away on February 24, 2009, leaving behind his wife Befatumma, four sons, and five daughters.
