1930 – 1973

Hakeem Shekhabba was born in 1930 in Bhandara Pade as the son of Hasanabba and Mariamma, a respected couple of native doctors from Harekala village. From a young age, he showed a natural aptitude for Ayurvedic medicine and went on to master this traditional healing art. After completing his DAM (Diploma in Ayurvedic Medicine) at the time, he began his medical practice in Bhandara Pade. Hakeem Shekhabba’s dedication to herbal medicines led him to establish a plantation on a 3-acre plot in Munnoor village, Ullal taluk.

Renowned for his treatments of ailments such as paralysis, epilepsy, intestinal diseases, and skin conditions, Hakeem Shekhabba earned a reputation for successfully treating thousands of patients. His clinic in Bhandara Pade drew hundreds of people from neighboring towns daily, seeking his renowned herbal remedies.

Known for his altruism and innate ability to help those in need from a young age, Hakeem Shekhabba was deeply compassionate towards the less fortunate. He passed away in 1973, leaving behind his wife, six sons, and two daughters, while his legacy in Ayurvedic medicine and compassionate care continues to be remembered in the community.

ನಾಟಿ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಸಾಧಕ ಹಕೀಂ ಶೇಖಬ್ಬ

ಹರೇಕಳ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಾಟಿವೈದ್ಯ ಹಸನಬ್ಬ-ಮರಿಯಮ್ಮ ದಂಪತಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾಗಿ 1930ರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಂಡಾರ ಪಾದೆ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಹಕೀಂ ಶೇಖಬ್ಬ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಹಿರಿಯರಂತೆ ಆಯುರ್ವೇದ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸಾ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಣ್ಣ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಕರಗತ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆ ಕಾಲದ ಡಿಎಎಂ (ಡಿಪ್ಲೊಮಾ ಇನ್ ಆಯುರ್ವೇದಿಕ್ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್) ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದು ಭಂಡಾರ ಪಾದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವೈದ್ಯ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಗಿಡಮೂಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಔಷಧಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಹಕೀಂ ಶೇಖಬ್ಬ ಅವರು ಉಳ್ಳಾಲ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಸುಮಾರು 3 ಎಕರೆ ಜಮೀನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಸ್ಯವನವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವವಾಯು, ಅಪಸ್ಮಾರ, ಉದರ ರೋಗ, ಚರ್ಮರೋಗಗಳ ಗುಣಪಡಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಅವರು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ರೋಗಿಗಳ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸಿದ ಖ್ಯಾತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರಿಂದ ಔಷಧ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಊರುಗಳಿಂದ ದಿನನಿತ್ಯ ನೂರಾರು ಮಂದಿ ಭಂಡಾರ ಪಾದೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇದು ಅವರ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಹದಿಹರೆಯದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವರಿಗೆ ನೆರವು ನೀಡುವ ಗುಣ ಸ್ವಭಾವ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಸರಳ ಸಜ್ಜನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಬಡವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಪಾರ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಪತ್ನಿ, ಆರು ಮಂದಿ ಪುತ್ರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನು 1973ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಬಿಟ್ಟಗಲಿದರು.
