K.S. Syed Haji Karnire lived a selfless life that made him an ideal in society and endeared him to the masses. Known for his simplicity, he hailed from a small village near the Shambhavi River, close to Mulki-Palimaru in Dakshina Kannada district. Born on December 14, 1940, he completed his primary education in Palimar and attended high school in Mulki, displaying a keen interest in reading and mathematics. Despite his skills, he could not finish his high school education due to circumstances that led him to join his father’s business in Shimoga.

Despite finding success in business, Syed Haji regretted not completing his education and was determined that his children would receive the education he missed. His wish was fulfilled beyond expectations, as his children not only excelled academically but also brought recognition to their small hometown of Karnire.

Doing business in remote areas during those times was challenging without modern transportation. However, through his honesty and dedication, Syed Haji managed his business for several decades, contributing significantly to the growth and fame of Karnire village.

Syed Haji, despite attaining great wealth, never forgot the poverty of his childhood and remained rooted in his hometown. Recognizing the hardships faced by the common people, he dedicated himself to helping them. Embodying a life of simplicity and compassion, he understood firsthand the struggles and hunger experienced by the poor. Consequently, he began providing support and assistance to those in need.

Syed Haji actively engaged in philanthropic activities such as arranging medical consultations for patients, facilitating marriages for economically disadvantaged families, and supporting social, cultural, educational, and sports initiatives. He constructed homes for numerous coastal families, easing their hardships, and repaired hundreds of houses. Additionally, he funded dialysis treatments for approximately 30 patients each month and covered medical expenses for those suffering from various illnesses, ensuring they received necessary care and treatment.

Compassionate towards the destitute and orphans, Syed Haji adhered to the principle of never turning away those seeking help, regardless of their circumstances. He took a keen interest in students who visited his home, inquiring about their studies and providing financial aid when needed. Recognizing the importance of education, he also offered job opportunities in his businesses to those who completed their studies but struggled to find suitable employment.

Syed Haji, renowned for his philanthropy, supported schools, colleges, mosques, and madrasas throughout the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. He established a charitable organization in his name and provided regular financial aid to numerous needy families. He also funded the construction of several mosques entirely. Serving as the president of Karnire Masjid for 30 years, Syed Haji was also esteemed as the president of the Lions Club for his amiable nature.

Known for his punctuality and disdain for elaborate ceremonies, Syed Haji always arrived early, often ten minutes before scheduled events. On May 7, 1964, he married Amina from the Kote family of Palimar. Despite conducting business in Shimoga and Maharashtra for many years, Syed Haji remained dedicated to his work, earning him the reputation of a diligent worker (Karmayogi). He prioritized his children’s education, investing his hard-earned wealth in ensuring all 11 received a quality education. His six sons pursued engineering degrees, while his five daughters also received comprehensive education.

Eldest son K.S. Sheikh completed his automobile engineering course at KPT, Mangalore. Abdul Rahim, the second son, completed his B.Com degree and joined NMPT. Third son Muhammad Asif and fourth son Muhammad Ashfaq studied engineering at Nitte University, while the fifth son Muhammad Ashraf attended NITK, Suratkal. The youngest son Muhammad Anseef pursued engineering at MIT and furthered his education in England.

About 30 years ago, KS Syed Haji prioritized his children’s education, enabling them to assume significant roles in prestigious companies in India and Saudi Arabia. Eventually, all his children united to establish “Expertise” in Jubail, Saudi Arabia in 2002. From its humble beginnings with a single crane, the company has evolved into Saudi Arabia’s most esteemed and reliable industrial services organization today. Expertise now supports over 10,000 families, with its workforce of more than 40,000 individuals hailing from around 20 countries, representing diverse backgrounds in terms of caste, religion, language, and customs.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, Syed Haji personally visited homes multiple times after arranging ration kits for thousands of households. The pandemic also claimed the life of his beloved wife, marking the end of nearly 50 years of companionship and deeply affecting Syed Haji emotionally. He could never bear the loss of his wife, and on March 26, 2021, his meaningful 80-year journey came to a close.

Even after the passing of Syed Haji Karnire, his children have continued his legacy of humanitarian service. They have sustained the charitable trust he founded, generously donating dialysis machines to Father Muller Hospital in Mangalore and providing free dialysis treatment to 40 patients for 15 years through the Jamiatul Falah organization, covering all expenses.

Additionally, Syed Haji had envisioned a project to provide free housing to the poor on a 2.5-acre land he purchased in his hometown of Karnire. Although he didn’t live to see it through, his sons have carried on his dream, establishing “Syed Haji Colony” and building 7 houses so far, which have been inhabited by deserving families for the past year and a half. The selfless efforts of Syed Haji’s children to support the underprivileged are truly commendable.

ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಬಡತನ ಮರೆಯದ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಕರ್ನಿರೆ

ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರಿಗೆ ಬಡವರ ಕಷ್ಟ ಅರ್ಥವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಡತನದಲ್ಲೇ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಸಂಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿನಿಂತು, ಜನರ ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲೊಂದು ತಿರುವು ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಆಸ್ತಿಪಾಸ್ತಿ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಬಳಿಕ ತಾನು ಈ ಹಂತ ಏರುವ ಮುನ್ನ ಯಾವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಮರೆಯುವವರೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಂತಹವರನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗಲೆಲ್ಲಾ “ಎಲ್ಲವೂ” ಕಾಲದ ಮಹಿಮೆ ಎಂದು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವವರೇ ಅಧಿಕ.

ಆದರೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲ ಅಪವಾದ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಕರ್ನಿರೆ ನಿಸ್ವಾರ್ಥದಿಂದ ಬದುಕಿ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಆದರ್ಶರಾಗಿ ಮೆರೆದು ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಹೃದಯ ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದರು. ಸರಳ ಬದುಕಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಜನಾನುರಾಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದಿದ್ದರು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮುಲ್ಕಿ-ಪಲಿಮಾರು ಸಮೀಪದ ಶಾಂಭವಿ ನದಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಿರೆ ಎಂಬ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಮರ್ಹೂಂ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಶೇಖಬ್ಬ-ಬೀಫಾತಿಮಾ ದಂಪತಿಯ 8 ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾಗಿ 1940ರ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 14ರಂದು ಜನಿಸಿದ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪಲಿಮಾರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಮುಲ್ಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲು ಸೇರಿದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಓದು, ಬರಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪಾರವಾದ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕ (ಗಣಿತ)ದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ತುಂಬಾ ಚುರುಕಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಕಾರಣಾಂತರದಿಂದ ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ-ವಹಿವಾಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಜೊತೆ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಕೂಡ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡರು. ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ-ವಹಿವಾಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಳಗಿದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಟಕುಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಬೇಸರವು ಸದಾ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯವರನ್ನು ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ತನ್ನಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದಿಂದ ವಂಚಿತರಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಪ್ಪಂದಿರು ಭಾವಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕು, ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರವಯುತ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೇರಬೇಕು, ಕಷ್ಟದಿಂದ ಬದುಕಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಕೂಡ ಆಶಿಸತೊಡಗಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನಾಸೆಯು ಅಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಡೇರೀತು ಎಂದು ಸ್ವತಃ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಭಾವಿಸಿದವರಲ್ಲ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೂ ಮೀರಿ ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವರ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅವರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆದ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಊರಿನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡ ನಾಡಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು ಎಂದರೆ ಅತಿಶಯೋಕ್ತಿ ಎನಿಸದು.
ಇಂದಿನಂತೆ ಬಸ್, ಕಾರುಗಳು ಅಷ್ಟೇನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರದ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಸುಲಭವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ತನ್ನ ಸರಳತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಕೆಲವು ದಶಕಗಳ ಕಾಲ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಜೀವನದ ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಕರ್ನಿರೆ ಎಂಬ ಊರು ಇಂದು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯ ಅವಿರತ ಶ್ರಮವೇ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು.
ದೀನ ದಲಿತರ, ಶೋಷಿತರ, ದಮನಿತರ ಕಷ್ಟ ಕಾರ್ಪಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆಯ ತುತ್ತ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಕೂಡ ಬಾಲ್ಯದ ಬಡತನ ಮರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಊರನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತೊರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಊರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡೇ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸತೊಡಗಿದರು. ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಳ ಸಜ್ಜನಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೈಗೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಬಡವರ ದುಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಹಸಿವನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಃ ಬಲ್ಲವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಡಬಗ್ಗರಿಗೆ ತನ್ನಿಂದಾದ ಸಹಾಯ-ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡತೊಡಗಿದರು.
ಊರ-ಪರವೂರಿನ ರೋಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ತಜ್ಞ ವೈದ್ಯರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ, ತನ್ನ ಕೈಲಾದ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದವರ ಮದುವೆ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಹಸ್ತ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಕರಾವಳಿ ತೀರದ ಹಲವಾರು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಮನೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವರ ಕಣ್ಣೀರೊರೆಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ನೂರಾರು ಮನೆಯ ದುರಸ್ತಿಗೂ ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ ಸುಮಾರು 30 ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳು ಡಯಾಲಿಸಿಸ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಾನಾ ರೋಗದಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಡ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಃ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯೇ ಭರಿಸಿ ಡಿಸ್‌ಚಾರ್ಜ್ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಬೇಡುವವರನ್ನು ಅಟ್ಟದಿರಿ, ದರಿದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಅನಾಥರಿಗೆ ಉಣಬಡಿಸಿರಿ ಎಂಬ ತತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅಕ್ಷರಶಃ ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸೆಯ್ಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಸಹಾಯ ಯಾಚಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಬಂದವರನ್ನು ಯಾವತ್ತೂ ಬರಿಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಳಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಡವ-ಬಲ್ಲಿದ ಎಂದು ತಾರತಮ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದವರಲ್ಲ. ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುವ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೆಂದರೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಅಚ್ಚುಮೆಚ್ಚು. ಅವರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ, ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಣಕಾಸಿನ ನೆರವು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕಲಿಯಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಕಲಿತರೂ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಸಿಗದಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪರ್ಟೈಸ್ ಕಂಪನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಅವಿಭಜಿತ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆ, ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಮಸೀದಿ, ಮದ್ರಸಗಳಿಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾರಿಟೇಬಲ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಬಡ, ನಿರ್ಗತಿಕ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾಸಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಣಕಾಸಿನ ಸಹಾಯ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಖರ್ಚಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ಮಸೀದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ತನ್ನ ಹುಟ್ಟೂರು ಕರ್ನಿರೆ ಮಸೀದಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ 30 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಲಯನ್ಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್‌ನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿಯೂ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಯಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಸಭೆ, ಸಮಾರಂಭ, ಗಣ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಯಿಂದ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ದೂರವಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಅತೀ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಗದಿತ ಸಮಯಕ್ಕಿಂತ 5 ಅಥವಾ 10 ನಿಮಿಷ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿಯೇ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಯ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದು ಅವರ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

1964ರ ಮೇ 7ರಂದು ಪಲಿಮಾರಿನ ಕೋಟೆ ಮನೆತನದ ಆಮಿನಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿವಾಹವಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಬಹುಕಾಲ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಸಹಿತ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಅವಿಶ್ರಾಂತವಾಗಿ ದುಡಿದು ಕರ್ಮಯೋಗಿ ಎನಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಬೆವರು ಸುರಿಸಿ ಗಳಿಸಿದ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯಯಿಸಿದರು. ಅದೇ ಅವರು ತನ್ನ 11 ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯ 6 ಗಂಡು ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಐವರು ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಪದವೀಧರರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಒಬ್ಬರು ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಪದವೀಧರರಾಗಿರುವರು. ಐವರು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಕೂಡ ಸುಶಿಕ್ಷಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಹಿರಿಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್. ಶೇಖ್ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಕೆಪಿಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟೋಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಮುಗಿಸಿದರು. ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ರಹೀಂ ಬಿಕಾಂ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದು ಎನ್‌ಎಂಪಿಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಯಾದರು. ಮೂರನೆಯ ಮಗ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಆಸಿಫ್ ಮತ್ತು ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅಶ್ಫಾಕ್ ನಿಟ್ಟೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಐದನೆಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅಶ್ರಫ್ ಸುರತ್ಕಲ್‌ನ ಎನ್‌ಐಟಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಪೂರೈಸಿದರು. ಕಿರಿಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅನ್ಸೀಫ್ ಎಂಐಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉನ್ನತ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಪಡೆದರು.
ಸುಮಾರು 30 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸದ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಭಾರತ, ಸೌದಿ ಅರೇಬಿಯಾ ದೇಶಗಳ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸೇರಿ ಸೌದಿ ಅರೇಬಿಯಾದ ಜುಬೈಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ “ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪರ್ಟೈಸ್” ಎಂಬ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು 2002ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಆ ಬಳಿಕ ನಡೆದುದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ಕ್ರೇನ್‌ನಿಂದ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಇಂದು ಸೌದಿ ಅರೇಬಿಯಾದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿದೆ. ಸಮಗ್ರ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಏಕೈಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಸುಮಾರು 10,000ಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಕುಟುಂಬದ 40,000ಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಪರ್ಟೈಸ್ ಎಂಬ ಕಂಪೆನಿಯು ಆಸರೆಯಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವುದು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವದ ಸುಮಾರು 20 ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಗಳ, ವಿವಿಧ ಜಾತಿ-ಧರ್ಮದ, ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಷೆಯ, ವಿವಿಧ ಆಚಾರ-ವಿಚಾರದ ಜನರು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ದುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ಆ ಮೂಲಕ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯ ಕನಸು ನನಸುಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕಟಿಬದ್ಧರಾದರು ಎಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದು.
2020ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರೋನ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿದಾಗ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ರೇಷನ್ ಕಿಟ್‌ನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತಾವೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ಸಂದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಕೊರೋನದ ಕಬಂಧಬಾಹು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಪತ್ನಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರಿಂದ ದೂರ ಮಾಡಿತು. ಸುಮಾರು 50 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆಯ ಜೀವನ ಅಂತ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಅವರು ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ಕುಗ್ಗಿ ಹೋದರು. ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಅಗಲಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಲು ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಗೆ ಎಂದೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂದರೆ 80 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅವರ ಸಾರ್ಥಕ ಬದುಕು 2021ರ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 26ಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂತ್ಯ ಕಂಡಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ತೋರಿಸಿದ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ನಿಷ್ಠೆ, ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆ, ಸರಳತೆ, ಪರೋಪಕಾರ, ಛಲ-ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನವತಲೆಮಾರಿಗೆ ಆದರ್ಶವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕೆ. ಎಸ್. ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಕರ್ನಿರೆಯವರ ಕಾಲಾನಂತರತವೂ ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮಾನವೀಯ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಂದೆಯವರು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದ ಚಾರಿಟೆಬಲ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟನ್ನು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಂಕನಾಡಿಯ ಫಾದರ್ ಮುಲ್ಲರ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಹಲವು ಡಯಾಲಿಸಿಸ್ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಉದಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಳೆದ 15 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಜಮೀಯತುಲ್ ಫಲಾಹ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಿರಂತರ 40 ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ಡಯಾಲಿಸಿಸ್ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಇವರು ಅದರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಖರ್ಚುವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ಈ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಭರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯವರು ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾಗಲೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಊರಾದ ಕರ್ನಿರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡೂವರೆ ಎಕರೆ ಜಮೀನನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಸಜ್ಹಿತ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಸಮಾಜದ ಕಡುಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ನೀಡುವ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಜಾಗವನ್ನೂ ಅವರೆ ಖರೀದಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಕನಸು ನನಸಾಗುವ ಮೊದಲೆ ಅವರು ನಿಧನರಾದರು. ಆನಂತರ ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳು “ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಕಾಲನಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಸಿ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆ ಅಡಿ 75 ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದು ಈಗಾಗಲೆ 7 ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಅರ್ಹ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಒಂದೂವರೆ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಆ 7 ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ವಾಸುಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಬಡವರ ಕಣ್ಣೀರನ್ನು ಒರೆಸುವ ಕರ್ನಿರೆ ಸೈಯದ್ ಹಾಜಿಯವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಈ ಸೇವೆ ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ.
