Muhammad Beary, recognized for his outstanding contributions to education, served as the President of the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District English Medium Schools Union. He played a crucial role in fostering educational awareness within the Beary Muslim community and uniting various Muslim educational institutions.

Born on May 2, 1954, to Marpu Beary and Khatijamma in Yadapadavu, Muhammad Beary held degrees in B.Sc., M.Com., and LLB. He completed his schooling from 1st to 10th standard at Swami Vivekananda Aided School in Yadapadavu and pursued his PUC and B.Sc. at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore. Before finishing his B.Sc., he secured a job at a bank after successfully passing the bank exam. Although he enrolled in LLB classes, he could not complete the degree. During this period, he also earned an M.Com degree from an Open University.

Muhammad Beary served as an officer in Syndicate Bank, working in various parts of the country, including Delhi. After opting for voluntary retirement, he dedicated himself entirely to the field of education. He established the Ideal English Medium School in Yadapadavu, providing quality education to children in rural areas. His efforts extended beyond this school as he mentored and supported numerous educational institutions.

Muhammad Beary was deeply committed to advancing education within the Muslim community. As the president of the “Muslim Educational Institutions Federation (MEIF),” he played a crucial role in highlighting to the government the challenges faced by private schools in rural areas.

Beyond education, Muhammad Beary was active in religious, social, political, and cultural spheres. He was adept at responding to current events on social media and served as the Dakshina Kannada District Secretary of the Congress Party. His social contributions were significant; he chaired the committee for the families of the Mangalore plane crash victims, advocating tirelessly for their justice. Additionally, he served as the President of the Ummuhatul Mu’mineen Masjid in Yadapadavu, fostering harmony among various communities in the region.

Muhammad Beary is survived by his wife, two daughters, and one son. His funeral took place on January 16, 2021, at the premises of Ummuhatul Mu’mineen Masjid in Yadapadavu.

ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಎಡಪದವು ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಬ್ಯಾರಿ

ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮೋಘ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ, ಬ್ಯಾರಿ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಮುದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಹಿರಿಮೆ ಎಡಪದವು ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಬ್ಯಾರಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ ಎನ್ನಬಹುದು.
ಎಡಪದವಿನ ಮಾರ್ಪು ಬ್ಯಾರಿ-ಖತೀಜಮ್ಮ ದಂಪತಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾಗಿ 1954ರ ಮೇ 2ರಂದು ಜನಿಸಿದ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಬ್ಯಾರಿ ಬಿಎಸ್ಸಿ, ಎಂಕಾಂ, ಎಲ್‌ಎಲ್‌ಬಿ ಪದವೀಧರರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ತೆಂಕ ಎಡಪದವಿನ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದ ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 1ರಿಂದ 10ನೆ ತರಗತಿವರೆಗೆ ಕಲಿತರು. ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಂತ ಅಲೋಶಿಯಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದರು. ಬಿಎಸ್ಸಿ ಪೂರ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಮುನ್ನವೇ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಲಭಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನೂ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಎಲ್‌ಎಲ್‌ಬಿ ಪದವಿ ತರಗತಿಗೆ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗೊಂಡರೂ ಕಾರಣಾಂತರದಿಂದ ಪೂರ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಮುಕ್ತ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಿಂದ ಎಂಕಾಂ ಸ್ನಾತ್ತಕೋತ್ತರ ಪದವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೇರ್ಗಡೆ ಹೊಂದಿದರು.
ಸಿಂಡಿಕೇಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ದಿಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಿತ ದೇಶದ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಸ್ವಯಂ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಪಡೆದ ಬಳಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಎಡಪದವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಐಡಿಯಲ್ ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಿಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಲವು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಮುದಾಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮೋಘ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಕಾಳಜಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಘಟನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಬ್ಯಾರಿ “ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ”ದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸೇವೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಎದುರಿಸುವ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಕಾರದ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಜತೆಗೆ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ರಾಜಕೀಯ, ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲೂ ಸಕ್ರಿಯರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮುಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಬ್ಯಾರಿ ಪ್ರಚಲಿತ ವಿದ್ಯಮಾನಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುವ ಗುಣವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಸಕ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಮಾನ ದುರಂತ ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಸಂತ್ರಸ್ತ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಸಂತ್ರಸ್ತರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಒದಗಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ಎಡಪದವು ಉಮ್ಮುಹಾತುಲ್ ಮುಅ್ಮಿನೀನ್ ಮಸೀದಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಎಡಪದವು ಪರಿಸರದ ಸರ್ವ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದದ ಕೊಂಡಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
2021ರ ಜನವರಿ 16ರಂದು ಪತ್ನಿ, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು, ಒಬ್ಬ ಪುತ್ರನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟಗಲಿದ್ದ ಅವರ ದಫನ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಎಡಪದವು ಉಮ್ಮುಹಾತುಲ್ ಮುಅ್ಮಿನೀನ್ ಮಸೀದಿಯ ವಠಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
