From our assessment, students with excellent communication skills, patience, and organizational capacities were assigned this role. In addition, there are 20 teachers working in this call center who are well trained and ensure smooth functioning of this process, calling parents from the database and convincing parents to participate and receive Community Centre services like counselling, goal setting programs, subject expert tuition, all free of cost.

Being a rural dominated Taluk, we observed that many students in Puttur lacked access to quality higher education, and more importantly, funds to afford higher studies. Recognizing the need for quality education, we have established rural tuition centre where graduate women and scholarship beneficiaries fulfil the role of teachers. Tuition classes usually happen in madrasas, centres, or homes to generate income for unemployed graduates and enrich the lives of rural children.

Monitoring system

Timely monitoring can help us identify errors & prevent us from going off track. To make sure our efforts are in the right place and monitor the progress made by our beneficiaries, we have taken many measures to keep things running smoothly. The beneficiaries who have received scholarships are provided with a unique PCC ID for follow up. Our monitoring system contains 2 parts to maintain consistency and effectiveness.

Monthly Progress Report

PCC developed a unique ledger. This ledger includes complete information’s about the students regarding their personal, family, Jamaat and school details, academic performance, progress, achievements, and remarks. The intention of this ledger is that the students are connected with the community centre and their presence is marked with their monthly signature which is mandatory. When they arrive to sign, a brief 30 minute follow up session is conducted to motivate and interact with them

Skill Development Programme and Media Training

Some students find it difficult to study subjects but are skilled in many tasks. Majority of such students drop out and perform small jobs. We find this threat, identify such students and enroll them in skill-oriented courses with full scholarships and media training like Photography, videography, editing and Graphic design. Many dropout students are now successfully employed in a field of their passion
