Sa’ad Musliyar, born on July 31, 1963, as the fourth of ten children to Abubakar and Bifatima in Athoor near Uppinangadi, was a prominent figure in reshaping the Madrasa education system in Dakshina Kannada district. Known as Sa’ad Kunhi or “Puthumonu Ustad” in his town, he completed his primary education at Koyla Government Senior Primary School in Atoor and pursued advanced religious studies under renowned scholars like Arantod Shah Musliyar, Macchampadi Ustad, and Kadappara of Kanhangad.

Sa’ad Musliyar served as a Head Master at various Madrasas, including Machampadi, Nala, Uruvalu Padavu, and Panjimogaru. Since 1992, he had been the Madrasa Muftis (Inspector), demonstrating his organizational skills within the Sunni community. He was instrumental in establishing several Sunni organizations, holding key positions such as state president of Sunni Jam Iyat al-Mu’allimeen, vice president of the Sunni Educational Development Committee (SEDC), and working president of the Sunni Management Association. He also served as the state president of Karnataka Sunni Jamaatul Mualmeen (KSJM) and held leadership roles in the Central Committee of Jam Iyatul Mufattiseen.

As a member of the Executive Committee of the Central Board of Education, Sa’ad Musliyar was active in publishing the movement’s mouthpiece “Sunnat” and the children’s monthly “Kusuma.” His efforts significantly contributed to building and developing many religious organizations across the state, earning him the nickname “Athoor Ustad.”

Born and raised in Athur, Sa’ad Musliyar later moved to Bondel, Mangalore, for work. He passed away on February 25, 2021, leaving behind his wife, two sons, and two daughters.

ಮದ್ರಸ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಹೊಸ ರೂಪ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಆತೂರು ಸಅದ್ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಯಾರ್

ಉಪ್ಪಿನಂಗಡಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ಆತೂರಿನ ಅಬೂಬಕರ್-ಬೀಫಾತಿಮಾ ದಂಪತಿಯ 10 ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯವರಾಗಿ 1963ರ ಜುಲೈ 31ರಂದು ಜನಿಸಿದ ಸಅದ್ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಯಾರ್ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮದ್ರಸ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಅಚ್ಚುಕಟ್ಟು ಮೂಡಿಸಿ ಹೊಸ ರೂಪ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರಮುಖರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಆತೂರಿನ ಕೊಯ್ಲ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 1ರಿಂದ 7ನೆ ತರಗತಿವರೆಗೆ ಕಲಿತ ಸಅದ್ ಕುಂಞಿ ಯಾನೆ ಆತೂರು ಸಅದ್ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಯಾರ್ ಬಳಿಕ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದರು. ಊರಲ್ಲಿ “ಪುತ್ತುಮೋನು ಉಸ್ತಾದ್” ಎಂದೇ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಅರಂತೋಡ್ ಶಾ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಯಾರ್, ಮಚ್ಚಂಪಾಡಿ ಉಸ್ತಾದ್, ಕಾಞಂಗಾಡಿನ ಕಡಪ್ಪರ ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸರ ಬಳಿ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆದು ಮಚ್ಚಂಪಾಡಿ, ನಾಳ, ಉರುವಾಲು ಪದವು, ಪಂಜಿಮೊಗರು ಮದ್ರಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದರ್ ಮುಅಲ್ಲಿಮರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸುನ್ನಿ ಸಂಘಟನಾ ಚತುರರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಸಅದ್ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಯಾರ್ 1992ರಿಂದ ಮದ್ರಸ ಮುಫತ್ತಿಸ್ ಅಂದರೆ ಪರಿವೀಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಹಲವು ಸುನ್ನಿ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯ ನಾಯಕತ್ವ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸುನ್ನಿ ಜಂ ಇಯ್ಯತುಲ್ ಮುಅಲ್ಲಿಮೀನ್‌ನ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಸುನ್ನಿ ಎಜುಕೇಶನಲ್ ಡೆವಲಪ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಕಮಿಟಿ (ಎಸ್‌ಇಡಿಸಿ)ಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿ, ಸುನ್ನಿ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜ್‌ಮೆಂಟ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಶನ್‌ನ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸುನ್ನಿ ಜಂ ಇಯ್ಯತುಲ್ ಮುಅಲ್ಲಿಮೀನ್ (ಕೆಎಸ್‌ಜೆಎಂ) ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಜಂ ಇಯ್ಯತುಲ್ ಮುಫತ್ತಿಸೀನ್‌ನ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಮತ್ತು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕಾರಿ ಸಮಿತಿ ಸದಸ್ಯರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಅಲ್ಲಿಂ ಚಳವಳಿಯ ಮುಖವಾಣಿ “ಸುನ್ನತ್” ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮಾಸಿಕ “ಕುಸುಮ” ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೊರತರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಹಲವೆಡೆ ಹಲವು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅವರು “ಆತೂರು ಉಸ್ತಾದ್” ಎಂದೇ ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. ಆತೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳೆದರೂ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬೋಂದೆಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅವರು 2021ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 25ರಂದು ನಿಧನರಾದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪತ್ನಿ, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರರು ಮತ್ತು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.
