Meese Abdul Khader Ullal

Abdul Khader, fondly known as Meese Kadraka or Captain Khader within the community, was born on September 15, 1941, to Haji Ismail Ahmed and Halimamma in Ullala Alekala. He earned recognition for his dedicated service in various spheres, earning him the prestigious Madani Award.

In politics, Abdul Khader made significant contributions as a member of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Parishad representing the Ullal Constituency from 1984 to 1989. His involvement extended to several key organizations and committees, including his role as a founding member of the Syed Madani Charitable Trust, a member of the Syed Madani Dargah Management Committee, and a member of the Madani Vyasaya Seva Sangh. Additionally, he served as a member of the management committee for Madani Primary and High School and as secretary of Alekala Jumma Masjid.

Beyond his involvement in charitable and educational endeavors, Abdul Khader was also an active participant in sports. He distinguished himself as both a footballer and a wrestler, showcasing his athleticism and passion for physical activities.

During the Ullala Uroos festivities, Abdul Khader assumed the leadership role of a volunteer team, earning him the moniker “Captain Kadrak.” His distinctive mustache and dignified demeanor made him a recognizable figure within the community, earning him respect and admiration.

Abdul Khader completed his 10th class education at Anandashram High School, Ullal. He is survived by his wife, Addaru Garadi, and a son. His legacy of service and leadership continues to inspire others, even after his passing on April 22, 2019.
