Muhammad Kunhi

Muhammad Kunhi, born on May 17, 1972, is a prominent figure dedicated to fostering communal harmony and religious tolerance. At 52 years old, he hails from a family where his father, the late Hasinar, and mother, Aisha, instilled strong values. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) from Badria College, Mangalore, affiliated with Mangalore University, and an Islamic course from Kasaragod in Kerala.

Kunhi holds several significant positions in various organizations. He is the State Secretary of Sadbhavana Vedike in Karnataka, a forum that works at the local level to promote harmony among different communities. Under the leadership of Shri Aravinda Jatti, the forum aims to strengthen societal peace and coexistence. Additionally, Kunhi serves as the State Secretary for Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka, and manages Shanti Prakashan in Mangalore. He is also the Director of Al Furqan Arabic Institute in Ullala, the Convener of the Coastal Karnataka People’s Development Forum in Dakshina Kannada District, and the Chairman of Karunya Souharda Credit Cooperative Society in the same district. Furthermore, he fulfills the role of Khateeb at Masjidul Huda in Thokkottu, Mangalore.

Throughout his career, Kunhi has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at strengthening religious tolerance, peace, and moral values in society. He has organized public Quran recitation programs in Kannada across Karnataka and has delivered numerous lectures, conducted dialogues, and participated in seminars on religious harmony and the creation of an evil-free society. His work extends to educational institutions where he addresses students on ethics and responsibilities. He also hosts ‘Holy Quran’ program on ‘Namma TV Channel’ and ‘The Message’ program on V4 Channel. Kunhi’s dedication to social service and his involvement in social struggles have made a significant impact.

In recognition of his efforts, Muhammad Kunhi has received several awards, including the State Level ‘Sevaratna Award 2009‘ from Sri Rudrakshi Mutt, Naganoor, Belgaum, and the ‘Kanaka Award‘ from Sri Revanasiddheshwar Mutt, Mansoora, Dharwad. Additionally, he received was felicitated for his service to the Kannada language at the 85th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelna held in Kalburgi.
