1923 – 1995

Hasanabba Vaidyar, born in 1923 in Kisan Nagar, Harekala, was the son of Abdul Rahman Imbichi Vaidyar and Baitar Khatijamma, also known as Ainthimma. He hailed from a family of Ayurvedic scholars named Hasainar Veetil Kammad Moideen, originally from Thanoor in Malappuram district of Kerala.

Hasanabba studied up to the 5th standard at Sri Ramakrishna Old School in Harekala before pursuing the profession of herbal medicine, a craft passed down through generations in his family. Known locally as a ‘Baicher’ in the Beary language, Hasanabba became famous as ‘Hasanabba Doctor’ for his expertise in preparing herbal medicines at home. He treated thousands of people for various ailments including Pakshavatha, Vatha, chronic diseases, shingles, and gynecological issues. His generous nature and willingness to provide medicine at any time endeared him to many.

Beyond his medical practice, Hasanabba served as the General Secretary of Aladka Badria Juma Masjid and was a member of the Harekala Sri Ramakrishna Primary School Development Committee.

Hasanabba was married to Rukia from Malar, and together they had five daughters and three sons. He passed away on October 6, 1995.

ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೈಚೆರ್ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯ ಹಸನಬ್ಬ ವೈದ್ಯರ್

ಮೂಲತಃ ಕೇರಳದ ಮಲಪ್ಪುರಂ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ತಾಣೂರು ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಸೈನಾರ್ ವೀಟಿಲ್ ಕಮ್ಮದ್ ಮೊಯ್ದಿನ್ ಎಂಬ ಆಯುರ್ವೇದ ಪಂಡಿತರ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ರಹ್ಮಾನ್ ಇಂಬಿಚ್ಚಿ ವೈದ್ಯರ್-ಬೈತಾರ್‌ನ ಖತೀಜಮ್ಮ ಯಾನೆ ಐಂತಿಮ್ಮ ದಂಪತಿಯ ಪುತ್ರನಾಗಿ 1923ರಲ್ಲಿ ಹರೇಕಳದ ಕಿಸಾನ್ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಸನಬ್ಬ ವೈದ್ಯರ್ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಹರೇಕಳದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಹಳೆಯ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 5ನೆ ತರಗತಿವರೆಗೆ ಕಲಿತ ಅವರು ಹಿರಿಯರಿಂದ ಬಳುವಳಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ನಾಟಿವೈದ್ಯ ವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಲ್ಪ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷವಾತ, ವಾತ, ಹಳೆದಿರೋಗ, ಸರ್ಪಸುತ್ತು, ಸ್ತ್ರೀರೋಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಗಿಡಮೂಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅರೆದು ಔಷಧ ತಯಾರಿಸಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಆಸರೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಾಟಿವೈದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಬ್ಯಾರಿ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೈಚೆರ್ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಸನಬ್ಬ ವೈದ್ಯರ್ ಕೂಡ ಬೈಚೆರ್ ಆಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಹೊತ್ತಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದರೂ ಮದ್ದು ಕೊಡುವ ಉದಾರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು.
ಆಲಡ್ಕ ಬದ್ರಿಯಾ ಜುಮಾ ಮಸೀದಿಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿ, ಹರೇಕಳ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಶಾಲಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವರು ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಮಲಾರ್‌ನ ರುಕಿಯಾ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹಸನಬ್ಬ ವೈದ್ಯರ್‌ಗೆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಮೂವರು ಪುತ್ರರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 1995ರ ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 6ರಂದು ಅವರು ನಿಧನರಾದರು.
